When Macedonia formed in 1991, Greece objected to its name because a portion of northern Greece is called “Macedonia.” As a result, Greece blocked Macedonia’s requests to join NATO for nearly three decades. But that all changed earlier this year, when Macedonia changed its name to “North Macedonia.
